Crossing Paths

This project is based in the nature of how we as individuals are perceived by others—that those renderings are limited only by the amount of people we encounter throughout our lives. Every experience will leave a different impression and every impression will be interpreted in a unique manner.

To approach this work I created an arrangement of dots anchored at random points of intersection on my own portrait and proceeded to connect them in a different fashion with each piece. The resulting series remains a singular self-portrait but representative less of how I see myself and more of my interpretation as to how the variety of others whom I have encountered have seen me.

Constellations are anything

One of my meditation methods developed while drawing the six-volume sketchbook series Part II was to draw a random scattering of dots on a page and connect them using different sets of rules for each image. For this series I began with a more structured approach, yet changed styles of execution to try and avoid repetition.
